Halloween 2015 I was a "Mombie"

On Halloween in 2015, I dressed as a "Mombie" This week, 2019...I FELT like a "Mombie"! All of the sickness going around finally hit our house this week. Sunday I started feeling a little bad, then Monday came and I REALLY felt bad! Monday morning the alarm went off and I actually thought "Do I really need to get these kids up for school? It'd be okay for them to miss one day, right?" Then rational mom said "No, they can't miss because of you." So I got up and got them going. While I'm doing this, I get a text from my husband, he's coming home from work, he is feeling sick, too. So while the kids were in school, I was in bed. They come in the door and my daughter comes to me to say she is now feeling bad. Super. I roll out of bed and take her temperature, 101. Well, no school for you tomorrow. So we are 3 out of 4 of us down now. Taking Daquil and resting. Meanwhile, my 7 year old son is full of energy. Yay....ugh. Lookin' like a Ramen noodle dinner night! Haha!

So Tuesday morning comes and I only have ONE kid to get ready and out the door. Easy, right? (You'd think!) By now I'm feeling as much like death as I'm sure I looked it! I was like an extra from The Walking Dead...or Z Nation...thinking "somebody please, mercy me!" So, needless to say when I finally got him out the front door the bus was pulling up at the same time. Well...at least he didn't miss it! So during the day, my daughter and I slept. Then when I woke up around noon, I realized I had to take him to get Valentine's for his class for Valentine's Day. (NOOOOO!!) So, after school (since my fever had gone) I took him to Wal-Mart. I'm sure it was a frightening sight, I still looked and felt like crap. We got what we needed and came back, luckily he pretty much filled them out alone. I just read off the names for him. So there we were, 3 days into the plague...3 days since I'd been well and had cleaned the house. Day 3...looked like I was seriously losing a game of Jumanji!

"In the jungle you must wait, until the dice read 6 or 8"

So, fast food dinner it is for Tuesday night! I'm pretty much feeling like a failure by now. Like I'm the MOM...moms have super powers...I should totally be keeping up. So I get up to do something and my body is like, "Just kidding, lay back down, stupid." Wednesday morning...more of the same..daughter and I home sick, son and husband off to school/work. Then I start getting messages from my daughter's boyfriend and his brother on the bus. My son has gotten a nosebleed. (Which usually happens when he gets/is getting a cold and during the change of seasons.) They are helping him with it, and he is okay. I called the school nurse to make sure he made it to her and that he is doing alright, (he was fine). Homework comes after school this time and she is horrified at the sight of it! But, on the bright side, the fever has gone down and she can go back to school now. Flash forward to today, I'm certain my son will be down for the count come this evening. I gave him some daytime cold medicine before school today because he has a bit of a runny nose. I just hope the cycle doesn't repeat!! I spent all of yesterday disinfecting the ENTIRE house because I finally felt like it. So now, the house is clean. But round 2 of disinfecting is about to go down. I've got hand sanitizer I keep making every one use and I feel like I should just record myself saying "Cough and sneeze into your elbow or a tissue! Cover your freaking mouth!" Because you know who always gets sick twice?! MOM! Because even though Mom is sick, she will still take care of you...so please shield me! HAHA!

Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day, Y'all! Woke up this morning and we each had a box of chocolates waiting for us. Also, some gummies for my son (his favorite), flowers for me and my daughter and a bag of beef jerky for her (her favorite) and some Cadbury mini eggs for me (MY favorite!) The temperature today is supposed to hit almost 57 and I'm still so exhausted from being sick that I just want to stay in bed again. Oh, but did I mention...tomorrow we may get up to 2 inches of SNOW! I know 2 inches isn't a lot...and I have been pretty pro-snow this winter...but now...BRING ON SPRING!!! I. Am. Ready. (Even though I've been watching Christmas movies this week, haha!!)

I have been behind on my reading this week as well. (You KNOW I feel bad if I can't even read!) So yesterday, I started a 30 free trial for Audible...so I could get caught up on the house and my book at the same time. (I've updated my "Currently Reading section on this site, come check it out!) I'm actually listening to/reading 2 books at the moment! Also, the book I pre-ordered came out this week! EEK!! I CAN'T WAIT TO GET IT!!!

I forgot to take some medicine when I got up this morning, so I'm sitting here mouth breathing and sounding like a zombie again. So I guess it's time to end this and get some more rest! (P.S. I have NEVER sneezed as much in my life as I have this week...seriously...I thought I'd lose a filling this week because of it) Hope you all are well, and as always, stay weird!
