Missing Summertime!!

So, yesterday was pretty routine after the crazy day I had on Thursday! I got up, got the kids off to school and cleaned the house. Which took a while, because I listen to music a high volume and perform my way through the house...bahaha! I'm sure the neighbors and anyone else passing by our house thinks "Good grief, woman!" What they don't know is that along with singing I'm also dancing (badly) through the entire house. I mean, I can sing...but dancing....well...my daughter says its pretty horrible anyway. Haha! But this coming from someone who does "the floss". I keep telling her how lame that one is...I mean hello...the running man? The sprinkler? Or my personal favorite, the dance from Everybody, Backstreet's Back?! That's okay, you don't have to say it...I know...I'm pretty awesome, right? Speaking of which, just so you know. Backstreet Boys released a new album yesterday! My teenage self was squealing yesterday as I listened to it for the first time! It was great!
Okay, so here we are already heading into February! I'm not usually the type to complain about wanting summer during winter. I'm all for winter...I love the snow (as long as I don't have to drive in it) and if it's too cold, I'll stay inside. (I have plenty of books to keep me occupied!) But today, I'm just in a mood I guess. I am ready for summer! For the past 5 years we have gotten season passes to Holiday World. It's a theme park near where I live, for those who don't know. I used to go there when I was a kid, and now I LOVE taking my kids there. Opening day for Holiday World and Splashin' Safari has become like a national holiday in this house. I love the sense of excitement on their faces as we walk through the gate for the first time of the year! (and mine too!) I told you I was a big kid, I wasn't kidding! I don't get to ride all the things I want to because I have one (my 7 year old) who's still scared to try the big ones (roller coasters). I'll try again this year. I'm hoping when they grow up, they will look back at all these summers and have the best memories! It really is an awesome, fun place to go, I probably even get more excited than they do! I'm totally ready for some water park fun, too!
Come on summer! We are ready for you now! Well, I guess that's all I've got for today. (Not much and a little boring...haha) I'll take tomorrow off and be back at it on Monday. Maybe something interesting will happen between now and then! So, until next time, stay weird, friends!
I agree. I am secretly counting down till spring. I’m not a fan of the scorching heat of summer. But do enjoy the perfect temps. of spring and fall. Also, I clean the house the same way! It’s the only way to suffer through that mundane chore. And my inner younger self who wanted to sing like Debbie Gibson and choreograph moves like Paula Abdul likes to make appearances then. That would explain the large number of for sale signs up around us 😉. Just keep rocking it and creating those memories!
