Good morning, folks! We had a gorgeous weekend here this weekend! 65 degree weather got us wishing it were spring already! It's looking like we will get the warm weather for a few more days before winter storms back in the door yelling "And another thing!!" Haha!
Although we had a wonderful warm weekend and were outside enjoying it, our hearts were broken this morning. We received word this morning that my daughter's Sunday School teacher and a good friend of ours passed away over night. We know that he is with Jesus now and that he is happy and no longer hurting, but we will sure miss him here. Thoughts and prayers from everyone would be greatly appreciated!
So, what did we do with the beautiful days we had over the weekend? Mostly we practiced softball...haha! My daughter has try outs after school today and we were trying to get her back into the groove! She's played in a youth league 5 years, but didn't make the cut for the school team last year. So we are working extra hard this year to prepare her. She's been a pitcher for the past 3 years and each year she gets better and better. We had coaching from a college softball pitcher last year and she helped a lot! I'm so excited for her and I really want her to make the team this year, not because I'm a super sports mom or because I'm gonna push her to hard or anything. I want it for her so badly because SHE wants it so bad! She absolutely LOVES the game! So many times over the years there are girls who are on her team who CLEARLY DO NOT want to be there. But the moms are all "You need to be in something so you are staying!" Don't get me wrong, I do believe that all kids should have something. A sport, a hobby, something. But it need to be something THEY love and want to do. If you force them to do a thing they don't like, they will end up hating it. My kid, loves it. She just thinks that it's crap that girls can't play baseball, haha! It infuriates her when the boys tell her baseball is better/harder...I keep warning them...she's a pitcher, dude...she will knock you out with her pitching muscles! I have been scoping YouTube for the past 5 years trying to learn things so I can to teach her...the pitching coach was awesome last year. I can tell her things I know to do and what the college girl told her, but man...I CANNOT pitch a softball. Kudos to those who can (including my daughter) because wow...it's hard. Wish her luck!!
I grew up loving baseball and we had a minor league team that played in my hometown. I spent 2 entire summers there as a teenager. My Dad was a traffic cop back then and he worked the games so I went along. Some of my favorite and best memories are in that stadium. Actually, if any of you has seen the movie, 'A League of Their Own', you have seen our stadium! The home field of The Peaches in the movie is in my hometown! We still have the lockers set up on display and the girls who work there dress like the Peaches. My daughter has seen (and LOVES the movie) and I've taken her to several games there as well. As she gets older I find we have less and less in common. But baseball/softball is the one thing that's been a constant over the years. A League of Their Own, The Sandlot, Field of Dreams...ahhh...the greats!

Okay, so I'm SO excited because I did my first pre-order on a book this weekend! I'm telling you...I'm hopeless...haha! I'm excited because with the pre-order I get some giveaway goodies and the author will sign my book! YAY!! If you've been keeping up with my "Currently Reading" here, you know I was reading C.J. Redwine's Ravenspire series. The book I ordered is the 4th book in the series, The Blood Spell. These books are re-tellings of classic fairy tales. Every time I finish one I think "THIS is my favorite one!" Then I read the next one and think the same thing, they are super good, y'all. If you haven't, you should totally pick these up and read them!
Currently, I'm reading "The Last Namsara" by Kristen Ciccareilli. It's so good so far and I'm about 120 pages in and it's already, so good! I'm trying to double up this time and start another series from Amy Bartol. I absolutely LOVED The Premonition Series, I finished the 5th book last month, and I already want to read them again. As a matter of fact, I've already bought the first 2. The second one will arrive around Wednesday. I'm a pretty big re-reader...do any of you enjoy reading a book several times? To me, it's like visiting an old friend...make sense or am I crazy? Just so you know...I'm okay with crazy, too! Normal is boring. If you haven't read them...go get them...now...haha! I have never loved the "bad guy" more than I did in these books. Seriously, she's writing a 6th book, and I'm thinking of asking her to write me in...as this guy's soulmate! (P.S. Don't tell my husband about my book boyfriends!) The other series I'm about to start of hers is called The Kricket series. I've heard they are amazing as well, and I can't wait!
I'm always wishing I could write...like I've literally started a "book" a crap ton of times. Then I'm like, yeah...you are no writer, chick. I mean I write this...but I don't know that I'm good at this either, HAHA! It's kinda been more like an online diary to me, I think... I suppose I should go have me another cup of motivation (coffee) and get my butt in gear...all those invisible fans are dying for me to take the stage! *Hair flip* Stay weird, y'all! (I know I will!)

Never had I meant
Yay!! Did you get it personalized? I did, I've I had an autographed book before lol
